Two boards, plenty of snow

Do you love everything vintage? Then the vintage ski race at Schmittenhöhe is just the right thing for you.

Wanna know what happened to me last winter? I went for a walk with my human parents on Schmittenhöhe. After all, I love rolling in the snow – both at Kitzsteinhorn and in the ski area of Schmittenhöhe. While I was running around and having the time of my life, I spotted a whole bunch of people with wooden skis. Initially, I didn’t quite grasp the whole situation, it was a truly weird spectacle. It felt like I had travelled back in time. But then my human parents called my name and brought me back to reality. They must have noticed my puzzled look and said: “Don’t worry, they’re the participants of the vintage ski race that takes place every year at Carnival Saturday.” To be honest: I was super happy and at the same time really curious. So, we watched the skiers on their wooden boards whiz from the top of the Schmitten to the finish line on the town square. Really impressive, but you have to experience it yourself.
