Summer freshness instead of dog days
Let’s head to the perpetual ice!
When the temperatures rise, the people of Kaprun head to the perpetual ice. Will you join them?
Summer can be incredibly hot. Quite literally. Climate change is causing more and more heat waves and making life difficult for us dogs, but also for humans. Luckily, I don't have to spend the dog days in the city and lead a dog’s life. Why? Because I get to enjoy a summer retreat in the hotel in Austria with my family. When the temperatures get higher and higher during the day, we hop into the mountain lift that takes us up to the perpetual ice of the Kitzsteinhorn. While I roll around in the cool snow, my family has fun in the Ice Arena. On slide sheets and toboggans, which can be hired free of charge on site, they whizz down the slopes, they build funny snowmen, or have endless fun with snowball fights, which I love to be part of. Particularly adventurous people explore the secured glacier trail. But no matter what you decide to do during your summer retreat in Kaprun: Don’t forget to wear sunscreen!
