Having fun in the snow in summer? Here in Kaprun, on the Kitzsteinhorn mountain, it’s still possible. The question is: for how many more summers? Not many, if we keep on acting like this! With these high temperatures, it’s not just me who’s sweating like a dog, but also nature. Salzburg’s glaciers are 70 to 90cm below average. Really alarming, but growling and whining is useless. Now it’s time to act and get ready for a huge change. My owners, Andreas and Sabine, have always been committed to the environment and sustainability. We’ve reduced our CO₂ footprint to a minimum. How? Thanks to a groundwater heat pump, the use of a building component activation system for heating and cooling, the newly installed photovoltaic system on the hotel roof, and the purchase of electricity from 100% renewable energy. We’ve also applied for the EU funding programme for greater sustainability in hotels … and yes, our Hotel Lederer in Kaprun has been selected! We’re so proud! Come and meet us at our hotel in Austria.
